Biography

I am a dairy nutrition scientist with experience in the international feed industry, working to connect science and practice.

My interests are:

  • Mammary physiology: rate of synthesis of milk protein, fat and lactose
  • Intemediary metabolism: the pathways of nutrients after absorption
  • Rumen physiology: digesting plant cell walls, building protein
  • Methane and manure: the other products of the system
  • Understanding feedstuffs: where the nutrients are
  • Calf development and growth: growing better cows
