Biography

Geoff Foster is a microbiologist with extensive experience of farm, companion and wildlife animals, inhabiting land, sea and air, as well as their interactions with humans and other species, including zoonoses and antimicrobial resistance.

He manages the Scottish Government’s AA115 Advisory Activity on Zoonoses and Antimicrobial Resistance at SRUC Veterinary Services and has important links in the zoonoses and AMR chain through representation on several national committees. In conjunction with FSS, he introduced AMR surveillance of farm animals presenting at Scottish abattoirs, ongoing since 2017.
