Biography

I am a biochemist in The Rowett Institute with an interest in mechanisms of body weight regulation and how to improve diets and prevent obesity. I have over 20 years of experience investigating food-gut-brain signalling with a recent focus on dietary fibre that can promote feelings of satiety and reduce food intake. My research via the Strategic Research Programme aims to help to improve the health of the Scottish population, particularly in the most deprived areas where poor diets and obesity are common.
