"These online resources aim to help farmers, agronomists and agriculture students understand the biology and control measures for key insect pests posing a risk to fruit production in Scotland" Arthropod pests are estimated to destroy up to 20% of annual crop production worldwide. In recent years, key pesticides used in soft fruit production have been withdrawn, leaving crops vulnerable to attack. Working with Scotland’s water sector and water users such as the farming sector, school children and teachers, we have designed this informative, engaging and fun series of educational posters on the important topic of water. We hope that by communicating a clear message about water, and explaining the very words used to best describe it and its many links to human life, young people and the general public will be better able to respond with real solutions in the places they live and work. The project was funded by SEFARI Gateway’s Responsive Opportunity Scheme as part of the Scottish

This year, the conference will focus on debating and discussing the roles animals play within topics such as dietary health, planetary health and mental health. The conference offers an opportunity for anyone who works with livestock through research or academia to get involved in lively discussion, and it’s also a great chance for delegates to build an international network. SEFARI Gateway will lead a 90-minute session for the second year in a row. This year, the discussion will focus on 'Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from animal agriculture', there will be keynote speakers and a live Q+A
My main area of interest lies in machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence and their applications in agriculture, specifically, data-driven phenotype prediction in dairy cattle.
