I was the Director of SEFARI Gateway (Sept 2016- Sept 2018), the virtual team responsible for improving the reach and impact of SEFARI research. SEFARI Gateway initiates, funds and delivers collaborative work across SEFARI, and builds partnerships with organisations across the business and policy communities, as well as with wider society.
I have now finished my secondment with SEFARI Gateway and returned to the Scottish Parliament as Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange. Through my parliamentary career I have led on briefing committees and parliamentarians on climate change, energy, environment and the Crown Estate, and held overall responsibility for the Health, Environment and Europe Research Team (which also includes rural affairs, transport and planning).
I have also been responsible for developing collaboration between the Scottish Parliament and academia. I am on the board of the Scottish Universities Insight Institute, and am an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.
